Easy as 1-2-3

Having lights at Burning man without using throw away batteries or other non renewable sources of electricity can be achieved in 3 pretty simple steps. This is one very basic direction a newcomer to alternative energy may follow. As with ANYTHING else, you must know your product before it can work for you. Please use our links and prolific resources to help you choose what will work best for you; feel free to ask us on line for technical and practical help. Here's a few suggested topics to get you started that apply to what you will read here:

Solarsense products (that's where I got my inverter)
Rechargeable batteries (NiMH) & battery chargers (electric and solar)
LED lights
Volts & Watts

1) I bought a portable inverter/solar panel/12 volt battery (sold as one unit) from Solarsense.

2) It is easily charged by the sun, your car lighter (DC power), and the regular old plug in your house (AC power).

3) I already had an electric recharger for my flashlight batteries (AA and C) and got some LED christmas type lights to decorate with.

4) Whattya mean 4?!? You said 3! Well, I wanted extra juice for extended use and other needs so I went and bought myself another 12 volt battery (lead acid deep cell).

Have fun!
